Development Corner highlights some of the new businesses in Seabrook:

• Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau – Seabrook welcomes the Bay Area Houston CVB to its new home at 913 Meyer Road (at SH 146). Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held September 10, 2009.
  
  
• Seabrook Center – Seabrook now features a 24,700-square-foot, two-story commercial property located at 2100 NASA Parkway that has large breezeways and a tiered patio. The property is perfect for retail and office projects.
  
  
• SpringHill Suites by Marriott^® – The new 88-room, SpringHill Suites by Marriott will open in April 2010 at 2120 NASA Parkway (at 5th Street). Hotel highlights include stylishly furnished, spacious studio suites and meeting rooms.
  
  
• Comfort Suites – Comfort Suites recently opened an 86-room hotel at SH 146 and Red Bluff Road.  Within five miles of several area attractions, corporate travelers visiting this Seabrook hotel will also appreciate the business center that offers conveniences such as a public computer with Internet access, and copy and fax services. The on-site banquet and meeting room can accommodate up to 30 people for a variety of functions.
  
  
• The Fish Markets at the Point – Seabrook’s legendary fish markets are starting to emerge from the devastation caused by 2008’s Hurricane Ike.  Pier 8 Seafood Market (409 Todville Rd.) and Golden Seafood (511 Waterfront Dr.) opened shortly after the storm. Rose’s Seafood Inc., located at 415 Waterfront Drive, has been completely rebuilt to encompass 8,807 square feet.  TH Seafood, Inc., located at 302 Waterfront Drive, is currently under construction.  Baybrook Fresh Seafood (416 Waterfront Dr.), My’s Seafood (514 Waterfront Dr.) and Waterfront Seafood (506 Waterfront Dr.) are also under construction.
  
  
• Buchanan Marine Group– Buchanan specializes in industrial and commercial marine services, including maintenance, inspection, repair, salvage and cleaning. The firm is located at 2517 NASA Parkway, suite 3.
  
  
• Sam’s Boat – Sam’s Boat’s new 7,800-square-foot location is open at Endeavour Marina, located at 3101 NASA Parkway.  The restaurant and bar also features a 1,400-square-foot deck overlooking Clear Lake.  Known for fresh seafood, live music and sports viewing, Sam’s Boat is open daily for lunch and dinner.
  
  
• Maribelle’s – After damage caused by Hurricane Ike in 2008, Maribelle’s, one of Seabrook’s most beloved bars, recently opened their new location at 3136C NASA Parkway.
  
  
• Merlion Restaurant – Merlion’s is Thai food at its finest, from the pad thai to different appetizers, curry dishes, salads and desserts. This quaint little restaurant, situated in Old Seabrook, has reopened since Hurricane Ike in a new location at 1301 14th Street.
  
  
• Seabrook Market/Shell Gas Station – Located at SH 146 and Red Bluff Road, in front of the new Comfort Suites.
  
  
• Subway – The famous sandwich shop opened a new location in the strip center adjacent to the Seabrook Market and new Comfort Suites.
  
  
• The Majestic Pet Hotel & Boutique – Located at 1913 NASA Parkway, the Majestic Pet Hotel & Boutique is a posh boarding facility and retail shop for dogs, cats and exotic animals.
  
  
• The Old Maas Nursery building – This 12,500-square-foot property located at 1717 2nd Street was recently renovated and features new tenants, including:  Free UR Feet, Tobacco Depot and JH Custom Homes. 
  
  
• Glass Mermaids – This stained glass and nautical-themed gift shop recently relocated within Seabrook and can now be found at 3136 NASA Parkway.
